General Motors Co. and Tesla’s collaboration aims to integrate the North American Charging Standard in new EVs beginning in 2025 by building upon the existing Ultium Charge 360 initiative. The initiative reinforces the GM’s focus on expanding charging access across home, workplace and public space and will build upon more than 134,000 chargers available to GM EV drivers. Collaborating with Pilot Company and EVgo, the initiative will add more than 5,000 DC fast chargers to the nearly 13,000 existing DC fast chargers in North America, including the deployment of community chargers throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Starting in 2025, the first GM EVs will be built with a NACS inlet for direct access to Tesla Superchargers without an adapter, and GM will make adapters available for drivers of NACS-enabled vehicles to allow charging on CCS-capable fast charge stations. GM will work to integrate the Tesla Supercharger Network into its vehicle and mobile apps to help drivers easily locate, pay for and initiate charging at Tesla Superchargers—and the NACS Supercharger adapter will only be available for purchase through the GM myBrand app via the accessories e-commerce experience to ensure customers can get adapters as quickly as possible.
